Our Ohio trip

Saturday Drew, Hailey, and I headed to Ohio to find a rental for Drew's 12 month fellowship in Cincinnatti! My mother in law stayed in Temple to watch the boys, so Hailey got us all to herself for 2 days. She definitely didn't mind :) It WAS her first plane ride, so I was a little nervous, but she did pretty well on all the flights, 2 there, 2 back.
We left Temple at 3am on Saturday morning and headed to Austin's airport for our 5:50am flight. Hailey slept through it thankfully:) Hard for Drew and I to sleep, but it was entertaining to hear all the snoring on our flight, lol. A short layover in Atlanta later we were headed to Dayton, OH airport which is about 45 minutes from where our hotel and potential rentals were.
After looking at 3 places, we were pretty sure which one we wanted the most, but will check into school details before making our final decision. The area we will be living in is a northern suburb of Cincinnatti, so it doesn't feel really crazy busy. However, it DOES have a few pluses. It has a premium outlet mall, IKEA, is close to Cincinnatti attractions (zoo, aquarium, museums, etc), and has all the everyday things we will need.

Hailey had a good time in our hotel room letting loose after a long day!
She decided to sleep in come morning, had to wake her up to go eat our breakfast!
We did get a chance to check out the hotel pool and spa :)
This is the place we are liking the most. It's called the Landings at Beckett Ridge. 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 2 story, 2 car garage, 1600 sqft, and has a grassy area in the back the kids can play in. It feels the most like home out of all the places we look, and is the least congested. I hope after talking to the school districts I feel comfortable turning in our application!
Hailey was such a big girl flying with us :) She may be the best behaved when we fly as a family of 6 in November :P

Spring Gala 2012

Almost exactly four years ago Drew and I found out that we were headed to Temple TX for residency. I was very excited (and proud of him since it was his #1 ranked program), but definitely apprehensive since I had never been to Temple and new nothing about it. Drew told me it was family friendly, not very large, and definitely somewhere we could live for four years. He was absolutely right! As soon as we got here I started meeting wonderful ladies who were experiencing the same things as me. A husband that was super busy and stressed, and who could often not even talk about what happened at work!

The Scott and White Medical Education Alliance has helped me through these 4 years. Supporting me daily, providing me meals when I needed them most (after two births and one surgery), and just being there to answer questions when needed. There is always something to do with familiar faces if you really want to get out of the house for a while.

Every year the SWMEA has a Gala that has an auction where proceeds go to the Children's Hospital at Scott and White. It's a nice evening in a beautiful setting, and this year it was at the Hilton. Free drinks, good food, and a live auction with friends. It was lots of fun to get dressed up once again. The difference THIS year was that I was one of the people everyone was looking at and saying goodbye to! There were about a dozen of us girls who are leaving temple for their husband's new staff position somewhere, or on to fellowship somewhere else (like us).

I will always remember the ladies I met in Temple!

apartment living w/ 6

My little helpers :)
Always saying, "cheese!" for the camera.
Nathan LOVEs turtles:) this was taken at the Waco zoo

One of the few things to do outside at our apartment....blow bubbles!!
Hailey vs the stool, we now keep the stool on its side when not in use.
Our house SOLD almost a week ago! We are now living in an 1100 sqft apartment very close by where we lived. It has been an interesting adjustment, but I think the move was the hardest on Drew and I! The kids find it exciting and don't stressed by it at all. We go to parks often enough they don't even seem to miss having a front/back yard and a driveway/sidewalk to ride on. I am very thankful for these things, not every child would be able to take all of this in stride :) Seeing pictures of the kids in our house right before moving, I do get sad. I do catch myself driving by every few days just to see if it looks different, which it doesn't, lol. We are now looking ahead to our Ohio adventure that will begin the end of June. Drew, I, and Hailey will be headed to Oh at the end of the month to look for a townhome to live in. I am very very excited for this adventure, but being in a place you are unfamiliar for only a year (by the time I'm used to it we will be packing up to move). Right now I"m trying to take lots of pictures and appreciate where we are right now: a family of 6, healthy and happy, with no house unsold.

Spring is here! Bluebonnet time

I haven't felt much like blogging lately. I've had so much going on that it just hasn't been on my to-do list! The blue bonnets are blooming here in Temple, although I don't know how they got that name; they are much more purple than blue, but very beautiful! The past week or so I've stopped here and there and taken pictures, all IN town (not in the country). I will always hold Texas as a place I spent 4 great years with my growing family and blue bonnet pics will be a part of that! Enjoy!

It has been a LOOOONG time :)

I always get online and check out other peoples' blogs. However, I have failed miserably to keep my blog updated for almost half a year! Shame on me :) I am going to just sum up the last months w/ a list, and I will add some cute pics. Hope you enjoy!
1. Soon after the last blog I found out I had a cyst on my brain (pressing on my internal corroded and making me dizzy/nauseous/headache). Surgery was done after many many tests/scans on Dec. 8th. It was nasal/sinus surgery and I did well. In the hospital 36 hrs, feeling really good after a few weeks.
2. I now have a 7, 5, 3, and 14 month old. Crazy!
3. Markus has lost more teeth, Hailey is popping it seems a tooth every week!
4. Drew has accepted a spot in the Pain Management fellowship in Cincinatti, OH. Starts July 1st and ends June 31st.
5. Our house sold in THREE weeks! Our ten day waiting period ends Monday at midnight, and we close on March 16th....we will be living in a nearby apartment for 3.5 months.
6. I've been working on lots of sewing projects, have a new niece coming in early April :)
7. I am actually depressed about leaving this house, more so than I had expected!
8. Finding it hard to think of anything else.....
