This past weekend, Drew and I went to Montgomery TX for the weekend. We stayed w/ the parents of one of Drew's fellow anesthesia residents. Saturday we went to the Texas Renaissance Festival, which was nearby in Plantersville, TX. It goes on in October and November, and was huge! Tons of rides, tons of food, tons to see. Markus was really interested in the rides, but Nathan just wanted to be out of the stroller and walking. There were different shows going on at different arenas throughout the festival. Sword fighting, falconry, juggling, dancing, etc. We went to the end of a fire show, which was pretty cool.
The food was really good there....at least I assume it was with all the lines! Drew had the traditional turkey leg, and the boys and I had chicken on a stick....with other snacks to fill in the hunger gaps...pretzel, funnel cake, etc. We ate alot! Markus really enjoyed doing targets with a crossbow, and he also got to ride a few rides (Nathan slept through a lot of the afternoon).
Drew did one of those hammering to ring the bell games....and won the first swing! He embarassed the other men doing it...but you know what his prize was? A card that said "Good for a kiss from any man woman or beast willing" lol!
